My Prattle:
I watched this movie just a few days back. It turned out to be a bit different from what I imagined it would be, but was pretty good. Its a romantic comedy based around the premise of how a person's character can be determined based on their blood group and how they fit in a relationship with people of the other blood types. This is a story of two completely different personalities, and apparently of different and incompatible blood types, leading to some hilariously awkward scenes. It was a good mix of romance and comedy.
The cast was good. Everyone was perfect for their roles. Lee Dong Geun did an amazing job at portraying Young Bin, as the insufferably callous type B one second and the caring, doting lover the next. Han Ji Hye as Ha Mi was sweet, cute and naive.
When Young Bin acts impossibly selfish and self centered, it'll definitely make us think, "ugh, who would put up with all that", but the next second he does something so sweet and romantic that, we cant help going "aww...". So in short it was a sweet, cute and funny love story. Yeah, it was a bit unpredictable, making it all the more entertaining.

My Prattle:
This is a definite must in a teen romance list of movies. It is a coming-of-age teen romance drama film based on the romance novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. The film is set around 1998. The film soundtrack has six songs by Mandy Moore. And Mandy Moore's version of Switchfoot's song Only Hope, which she sings in the film was really good.
They chose young actors for the cast so that, teens can relate to them easily. And I think their choice was perfect. Shane West was perfect for the role of Landon Carter, as he has to be both the bad boy who is angry with everything, and the heroic, caring lover. Mandy Moore has both the voice and the face to be the soft Jamie. They looked really good together.
The story shows the lives of two completely different type of persons, forced together due to circumstances. It shows how they effect each other and their lives. Its a beautiful love story. It was targeted towards teen audience, but I think everyone who is in love, or loves romance movies will enjoy watching it. Its perfect for watching with your loved ones.
A quote from the movie,
Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

My Prattle:
This was my first Thai movie. And still is the only Thai movie I've ever watched. As the name says, it has all the elements of a first love, I mean "everything", literally. It can relate to every one of us in some way or the other. After watching it you'll understand why this is a must post in this list.
The cast was very good. Everyone was just perfect for their roles. The main cast i.e, for the roles of Nam, Shone and Teacher Inn, standout the most, action wise among others. The girl who did the role of Nam was really good. I liked the way she acted in the last scenes where she finally confesses to Shone.
The story depicts love in the eyes of young people, when they first begin to experience it. It shows how it can affect their lives and aspirations. Nam is an ordinary high school girl, who has a crush on the most popular boy in school. She's considered unattractive in general. But that doesn't deter her from giving it her all to get Shone to notice her. The things Nam and her friends do, to get Nam noticed by Shone are funny and cute. Shone is the the perfect depiction of every high school girl's dream guy. He's handsome, generous and the most popular boy in school. But inside he's just like any other high school boy, awkward and shy at expressing his feelings to the girl he like's. Teacher Inn is the major supporting role in the movie. Her story runs on the sidelines and mostly adds to the comedy of the movie.
I didn't like the way they showed so much difference in her skin tone. Yeah I get the point that she's supposed to be an ordinary unattractive high school girl, who begins to change herself to get her noticed by the one she loves. But I think the difference in the two skin tones was way too big to be considered normal. Other than the skin tone, the way she wears her school uniform, hair etc also change. I almost thought that she was a completely different person altogether. One factor might be, the out of ordinary skin whitening, but other than that, she also seemed taller and like a completely different person to me. So i had to pause and go back to the starting scenes and compare and see to confirm that she's the same person. And I was surprised from what I found. I never knew that things, as small and insignificant as, how we wear our school uniform can bring so much difference in the way we look.
I also didn't like the ending. I am not getting down to specifics as I don't want this to be a spoiler. It just didn't seem natural. But if we don't consider the realistic and naturalness of the turn of events, then the ending's good.
It is said to be inspired by a true story. I am not sure if that's true. It's a really sweet, cute and innocent depiction of love from the eyes of young, when they first begin to feel it. It mostly targets the teen and might not suit the tastes of adult audience. But I think that even they can relate to this story, as it can be a reminder of their feelings when they first experienced love.
Title: He Was Cool Genre: Teen, Romance, Comedy Writer: Gwiyeoni (Novel), Kim Young suk, Lee Hwan Kyung Director: Lee Hwan Kyung Producer: Yoo Byoung Suk Cinematographer: Lee Kang Min, Park Seung Bae Release Date: July 22, 2004 Runtime: 113 min Language: Korean Country: South Korea Cast: Song Seung Heon - Ji Eun Sung Jung Da Bin - Han Ye Won Lee Ki Woo - Kim Han Sung Kim Ji Hye - Kim Hyo Bin Lee Min Hyuk - Kim Seung Pyo Ahn Hae Soo - Lee Kyoung Won Plot: Han Ye Won (Jung Da Bin), a cheerful, clumsy and sweet high school girl starts getting threatening calls from a Ji Eun Sung (Song Seung Heon), after she replies rudely to Eun Sung's impolite message on the school website. On one such occasion when Ye Won tries to jump over her school wall to avoid meeting Eun Sung, she falls on him, who is standing on the other side of the wall, and their lips meet. Eun Sung asks her to take responsibility for what she did. Though Ye Won didn't like Eun Sung in the beginning, she starts falling for him after getting to know him better. Trailer:
My Prattle: This was my first Korean movie, and so it is perfect for my second post. Even after all these years it still remains one of my favorites. Song Seung Heon was really cool in this movie, true to the movie's name. Jung Da Bin was hilarious in the movie. I didn't like her when i first saw the movie, but watching this again yesterday, made me think that her character was supposed to be like that, and Da Bin did a perfect job at it. The rest of the cast doesn't really have a strong presence in the movie. The story completely revolves around the two main characters, and the rest of the roles complete the story. And as for the story line, it is the love story of a sweet, clumsy and warm Han Ye Won and rude, hot tempered Ji Eun Sung who doesn't know how to express his feelings. The completely opposite personalities create a very funny and cute love story. There are hardly any lines of love in the entire movie, but we can still feel the love between them. The cast did a great job in expressing all this. The ending could have been better, something was definitely off about it, and there are some other aspects of the movie which are crucial to the story but only revealed at the end.Yes this kind of screen play definitely created a nice twist feel. But since it was only a 2hr movie and they had to cover all the reasons for Eun Sung's scars and the story between the main roles, the love Kim Han Sung felt for Ye Won wasn't clear enough until the end when he talks about it. I think it could have created better feel if it was revealed earlier. It's a must watch for all Korean entertainment industry fans, as it has something of everything Korean and gives a perfect whiff of Korean entertainment to those who are not already acquainted with it.
